Rationale
Elegant, gentlemanly ladies. Or dashing rogue Lady Byrons. Or glam rock-esque: women who look like David Bowie looking like a woman. Playful fops & vicious rakes. Bifauxnen. Maybe the occasional gentleman ‘quaintrelle’. There are marvelous, prolific showcases for tomboy fashion, women in suits, and dapper queer, I’ve found; this is for a certain look I favor.
There is a lot of frivolity here; a number of posts merely service as outfit ideas. Aesthetics is a serious matter, after all. But I’m most interested in images that convey the dandy spirit, and will emphasize that wherever I can.
A brief note: “femme” is a mutable, porous term. All things androgyne and/or scornful of boundaries will be met with a smile. Gender is a high-stakes game we play.
