A peculiar manner of crossdressing lady.

I love it when people take no quarter while being fancy! How delectable. You are both jawdropping!

More Annie, during the height of the military jackets phase. This is certainly the best military jacket I’ve ever seen. I love that it’s got tails.

Natalie Barney’s first love, before Romaine, was the devastating and tragic Symbolist poet Renée Vivien, as authentic a femme dandy as there ever was.

Gladys Bentley was a popular Blues singer during The Harlem Renaissance. Bentley dressed in her trademark tuxedo and top hat. She flaunted her sexual orientation and reputation as a ‘bulldagger’ or butch lesbian. She openly flirted with women in the audience.
It really takes someone special to pull off an all-white ensemble like that. I greatly enjoyed her spotlight on afterellen.com.

That disdainful expression, combined with the way her manicured hands are fingering the glass, earns this picture a post.
As well as cufflinks; there is a lamentable dearth of cufflinks on my blog.

Checks for the pompadour and the foppish jacket — which really borders on surrealism in its excesses. The way the jacket complements whatever she’s wearing at her neck is especially marvelous.

Once again, Merle Oberon. The costume is inaccessibly perfect, of course, but her poise, pose, and expression are the standards by which I set my dandies.

GOOD PEOPLE OF TUMBLR if I may just have a moment of your time, I wonder if we might talk about the suit coat I purchased this afternoon and how sweetjesuseverlovingamazing it is.
WHY YES WE CAN. THAT, MY DEAR DANDY, IS A SUITCOAT FOR THE AGES.
